Warbler Week Day 3, Session 2

Wednesday, August 16

1:15 – 1:45 pm CST

Feeding Warblers in Your Yard

Presented by Michele Eder

Synopsis:

Warblers are notoriously difficult to attract to yards, often remaining as lurkers in the trees and ignoring feeders in favor of voraciously consuming caterpillars and other insects – their preferred diet. However, Michele has some great recommendations regarding feeder and water attractants that might entice warblers to stop and visit for a while.

She will also be discussing the benefits of bark butter, a Wild Birds Unlimited product that can be important for warblers and other birds during migration and seasonal visits. She will go over tips and tricks for using bark butter feeders effectively, to ensure birds find the resource when foraging.

Michele’s Bio:

Michele has had her Wild Birds Unlimited store in Burleson, TX for six years, but she has always loved nature. She is living her dream, being able to share her passion with others, and considers herself a normal person that got lucky being able to do what she wanted to do.

Visit the store page on Facebook and give them a follow, check out their website, or swing by in person to say hello to Michele and another member of our Birding with Extension family, Ty Allen!
