The Understanding Wild Pig History and Biology online course is a web-based course designed for professionals seeking continuing education credits. This course provides 3 category one contact hours for the Wildlife Society, 2.5 CEUs for the Society for Range Management, and 2.5 hours of category two continuing forestry education credits (CFE) for the Society for American Foresters. Wild Pig Management for Texas Pesticide Applicators
The Wild Pig Management online course is a web-based course designed for Private Pesticide Applicators seeking Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) continuing education units (CEUs). This course provides 1- General CEU and 1- Integrated Pest Management CEU. Students who complete the course will gain knowledge of the history, biology and management of wild pigs. Additional information is provided to give participants a greater understanding of wild pig impacts to humans, livestock and the environment. Laws and regulations related to wild pigs are also highlighted.
Northern Bobwhite Management
This course is intended for the general public (no credit is given for this course). This course is designed to provide an in-depth overview of the various aspects of quail management including how and when to conduct habitat evaluations, habitat management practices, and population management practices. The course is intended to be used in conjunction with the smart phone apps “Northern Bobwhite Management Calendar” and “Northern Bobwhite Habitat Evaluation,” both available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The apps provide a condensed version of the information presented in the course and can serve as a quick reference when out in the field.
Managing the White-tail Deer for Landowners
This curriculum teaches key principles as they pertain to natural resources manage-ment. Participants will learn the three important components of white-tailed deer management: the deer population, the habitat, and the people who interact with and use this species. The comprehensive background reading section describes each component, then details how each is assessed and evaluated by wildlife biologists. In additional you will learn to collect, analyze and interpret data to help evaluate the three components. Participants learn to make management recommendations based on this data.
