What to Bring

*Please note that we will be traveling in remote areas and there will not be opportunities to purchase forgotten items once we depart from Del Rio.*

  • Sleeping bag or fitted sheet with blanket, towels (2 full and 1 hand towel), pillow
    • OR add these to your registration and they’ll be provided on arrival
  • Clothing for one week in warm – hot weather (shorts, t-shirts; long pants may be desired for days in brush country)
  • Socks and underwear
  • Pajamas
  • Toiletries (deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, soap, lotion, comb/brush, feminine hygiene)
  • Swimsuit and swim goggles
  • Rain jacket/shell
  • Hat
  • Belt
  • Sunglasses
  • Good hiking shoes
  • Water shoes
  • Bandana or sweatband
  • Prescription medications
  • Cough drops
  • Lip balm with sun protection
  • Glasses/contacts with solution
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug spray
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Flashlight
  • Pen and notebook
  • Camera, cards, extra battery, charger
  • Small Extension cord
  • Ziplock bags
  • Trash bag (for dirty clothes/shoes)
  • Spending cash (no more than $50)
  • Phone and charger and all adaptors
  • Binoculars
  • Field guide

It is recommended to put your child’s name on their possessions.

Your child should NOT bring candy, knives, or portable video games. Cell phones are allowed but service is very limited in the places we will visit and there will be times when we collect all phones so youth can focus on a task or lesson.
