Texas A&M AgriLife Extension has provided research and education to local communities for many years and is always looking for new and innovative ways to carry out our mission of education. In 2017, we successfully launched a week-long “Birding the Border” educational program and tour. During this event, birding experts provided tours and programs in various locations such as San Felipe Creek, Rio Grande, and local ranches that featured many bird species. The event has been sold out for each of the 2 years and attracts participants from all over the country. Because of its success and by popular demand, it was decided to expand our event to a festival format to host 70+ participants each day.
Our goal is to provide a great experience for both our participants and our vendors! To have a great trade show for our participants we have to have the best vendors. To get the best vendors we know that it takes both time and money to travel to Del Rio, so to ensure that being a vendor at Birding the Border is worth your time — there is NO VENDOR FEE this year! If at the conclusion of Birding the Border you feel that it was worth your time and money, we would appreciate a donation to help us continue our educational efforts.
Vendors can purchase a $30 vendor pass that will provide them access to all our Birding the Border socials (excludes Birding with Extension Dinner – however we hope you will join us there too!)
Applications for vendors are due by February 1, 2023. Applicants will be notified by February 15, 2023 if they are accepted to be a Birding the Border 2023.
