5 Hour CEU Event: Jackson County

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Jackson County, the Field Crops committee and the Beef Committee are sponsoring a 5 Hour CEU Event to be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at the Jackson County Services Building Auditorium. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the programs will conclude at 3:00 p.m. There will be a $25 registration fee, which includes refreshments and lunch.

Procrams:
9:00- Ward Ling-“Watershed & Water Quality”, related to nutrient management and chemical applications. Soil and Crop Sciences Program Specialist, College Station. (1 hr. General)
10:00- Dr. Joshua McGinty – “Herbicides, Modes of Action”‘ & “Weed Resistance”, using different chemicals in our arsenal against weed control. Agronomist, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Corpus Christi (1 hr. IPM)
11:00- Peter Woods-“Aquatic Weed Management”, pesticide use and precautions on invasive species. Fisheries and Aquaculture Specialist, Texas AgriLife Extension Service, Bay City ( 1 hr. IPM)
12:00 – Lunch.
1:00 – Mark Tyson -“Feral Hog Management”, damage, pollution, chemical baits and use, laws and regulations, Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Associate. Wildlife & Fisheries. College Station. (.5 hr. General , .5 hr. IPM)
2:00 – Dr. Don Renchie – “Texas Pesticide Laws and Regulations”, Extension Program Specialist, Agricultural and Environmental Safety, College Station. (1 hr. Laws & Regs.)

Five (5) total CEU’s will be offered for TDA pesticide applicator license holders.
• 1 hour in Laws and Regulations.
• 2.5 hours in Integrated Pest Management.
• 1.5 hours in General.

Five (5) CEU’s will be offered for Texas CCA Program.
• Soil & Water Management
• Pest Management
• Crop Management
